What To Expect

Galway's Latin Quarter
All going smoothly, we expect to reach Galway city by 11:30 approx. You'll enjoy approximately 2 hours in Galway. There's lots to see and do, but the city is quite compact. Take a stroll through the JFK Memorial Park at Eyre Square, enjoy an ice cream on the Salthill Promenade or pick up local specialities such as Claddagh Rings (Thomas Dillon on Quay Street) & Aran Sweaters (O'Maille's on High Street). Those who wish to sit back and people watch can relax over a pot of tea and scones at Cupan Tae (8 Quay Lane), a quaint Irish tea shop. For those of you who have had a late one in Temple Bar, these guys also do a mean Full Irish Breakfast including sausages, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, tomatoes and soda bread with Kerrygold butter!Alternatively, if you're seeking a “hair of the dog that bit you” you could do worse than wash down a half dozen Galway Oysters with a Guinness at John Kehoe's Pub (22 Dominick Street Upper).

The Burren
Sit back and relax as we drive the short distance from Galway to Lisdoonvara along the Burren coastal route. Take in amazing vistas of the limestone countryside as we pass through ancient parishes such as Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan, Kinvarra and Ballyvaughan.

The Burren Smokehouse is a family-run business that was set up in 1989 by Birgitta & Peter Curtin. Its quality became known very quickly and they now supply smoked salmon to restaurants all over the world. The visitor centre showcases the traditional way of smoking Burren Smoked Salmon, Trout and Mackerel. Their passion for the highest quality produce has attracted the attention of retail icons such as Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and Selfridges in London. Back in 2011, Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed the Smoked Irish Organic Salmon during her historic State Dinner in Dublin Castle. Now you'll have a chance to savour these delicious specialities too!

Cliffs of Moher
We arrive at the world famous Cliffs of Moher (approx 16:30), one of the world's great natural attractions where you can enjoy a relaxed walk and breathtaking views. The Cliffs of Moher are 66% as tall as New York's Empire State and stretch for almost 10km. Forming part of the edge of Western Europe, this landscape really is a "must see" on a visit to Ireland. You'll enjoy 1.5 hours at the Cliffs of Moher, which is just the right amount of time according to the 90,000 passengers who travel with us annually! So Glad We DId this Tour

Brian was an absolutely excellent driver and guide. He maintained a wonderful balance of narrative, history, jesting, and quiet time plus a couple of delightful songs to boot. Of course, the cliffs themselves were stunning as was the scenery along the way. Having a cart available for my husband to ride up and down at the cliffs was especially appreciated because he has mobility challenges and would not have been able to make the climb otherwise. Stating that accessibility in the promo material would be helpful to others I think. We were so glad we did this tour.

This trip was awesome and highly recommended! Richard was a great guide and driver and went above and beyond to make the tour fun and interesting. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Irish history and stopped a few places throughout the day. The cliffs of Moher were really beautiful. I would definitely book another trip with this company!
Great scenery and excellent tour.

Everything was perfectly on time and the trip was extremely pleasant. Our tour guide Richard was charming, kind and personable. The weather was good and the 12 hours felt more like 6. Beautiful scenery, with amazing castles with a rich history which was eloquently explained by our guide. Clearly a lot of effort is put into this tour, and I would highly recommend the trip.

This tour was AMAZING!!!! It was a great mixture of fun and history all at once. Richard O'Brien was seriously so awesome. Not only is he a great DJ, he is also so knowledgeable about all things Ireland. O'Brien was also hilarious and made me and my big group of friends feel so welcomed and special. I loved the layout and punctuality of this tour as well. Overall, Paddywaggon is a 10/10 and Richard O'Brien is an 11/10!!!
